Breakfast Round Table Discussion
Our Table Moderator will be: Ruth Mattson, Vacovec, Mayotte, & Singer
Ruth Mattson, a partner, concentrates in the areas of international and multinational estate planning, multinational estate administration, sophisticated estate and business planning, local estate and trust administration, and tax compliance for individuals with assets outside the United States.
Ruth engages in comprehensive planning with each client. She reviews each client’s goals, family and financial circumstances, and recommends a plan to meet the client’s objectives. Once the estate planning documents are executed, Ruth continues to work with the client to implement the plan.
Our topic is: Opportunities and Challenges with Qualified Opportunity Zones
Tucked inside the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was a fascinating tool for deferring and reducing capital gains. Qualified Opportunity Zones present powerful tools for taxpayers who have large capital gains and who plan to develop qualified properties or businesses. For indirect investors who are not directly involved in real estate development or local manufacturing, hear about the complexities, risks, and benefits of Qualified Opportunity Funds. Together we will explore when, why, and how our clients might use this tax strategy.
